  2、There are many kinds of copper-bearing minerals in ores. There are more than five kinds of copper minerals, such as malachite, silicomalite, chalcopyrite, alum, blue copper, secondary sulphide ore and primary sulphide ore.

  3、Multiple types of structural structures may occur in the same ore. Different structural forms of the same copper oxide, such as porous, colloidal, radial, etc., increase the difficulty of mineral processing.

  4、It has strong hydrophilicity  Copper oxide is a hydrophilic mineral, silicon malachite is the strongest and malachite is the second.

  5、It has high mud content The oxidized ore is weathered and denudated seriously and contains a large amount of mud, so pre-separation and desliming can be considered before flotation or hydrometallurgical treatment.

  6、The grain size of inlay varies greatly. It is difficult to adopt floatation process when the size of inlay is too fine, and the particle size is less than 40 μ m.

  ⑴solubility:Copper oxide minerals with fine particle size are difficult to be separated by mechanical method, but they can be separated and extracted from gangue minerals by using their characteristics of soluble in acid or alkali.

  ⑵decomposability: Some copper oxide minerals are decomposed into alternative minerals at high temperatures.For example, malachite is decomposed into copper oxide, carbon dioxide and water at high temperature. The calcinations of siliceous malachite can be decomposed into easily separated minerals

  ⑶floatability:The surface or nodal surface of certain oxides has greater surface tensio and strong interaction with water molecules. The hydration property is stronger than that of vulcanization and the floatability is poor.Malachite, chalcopyrite, blue copper and alum minerals can be floated with xanthate or fatty acid after vulcanization.

  8、Floatability of main copper oxide ore

   ⑴malachite: Xanthate is ofen used , its carbon chain is short (carbon number < 5), not easy to floatation.After vulcanization, the hydrophilicity of malachite decreased and the consumption of xanthate decreased.The main vulcanizing agent is sodium sulfide, sodium sulphide, and the effect of adding curing agent is better.Small amounts of fatty acids, soaps and hydrocarbon oils can be added in industrial production.

  ⑵chrysocolla: Under the action of collector, the hydrophobic film formed on the surface of siliceous malachite can only be formed in the mineral pores, resulting in the decrease of hydrophobicity, which is difficult to select.Emulsified xanthate and non-polar hydrocarbon oil can be used or vulcanized at pH 4.

  ⑶False malachite: It belongs to basic copper phosphate and is recovered by adopting a fatty acid floatation process

  ⑷Sulfate minerals (block copper alum, water gallstone, bile alum, etc.): It is easier to choose than malachite and can be sulfided by Ding Ji phosphate.

  ⑸cuprite red: It is the same as the process of flotation of Malachite; the change of mineral properties is great, and the effect of sulphide flotation is better.
