Main copper ore types in China
2020-07-29 09:47Introduction:Main copper ore types in China Almost all the genetic types of copper ore in China are available, but the industrial utilization is mainly from the following: 1.Skarn type copper ore, with reserves of 31%and mining quantity of 41.2% are th
1.Skarn type copper ore, with reserves of 31% and mining quantity of 41.2% are the first, and the ore grade is higher (copper grade > 1%). According to the INTERGROWTH relationship of elements, they can be divided into copper-iron type, copper-iron -molybdenum type, copper-tin(zinc)- tungsten type and copper-lead-zinc type.
2. porphyry type copper-molybdenum ore accounting for 24% of total copper reserves,The ore grade is not high (the average grade of copper is from 0.45% to 0. 8%). Large and medium sized deposits account for more than 70%.
3.magmatic copper and nickel ores, accounting for 9.8% of the total reserves of copper deposits, The ore grade is not high.
4. hydrothermal copper ores, accounting for 1.7% of the total reserves of copper deposit, the ore grade is high and the deposit distribution point is much, which is convenient for local mining.
The primary copper ore presents a disseminated structure and a dense block structure.Secondary enriched ore and oxidized ore are porous block structure and colloidal structure. The metasomatic dissolution structure in ore is very common. The main types of copper ore in China are listed in Table 17-13.
Table 17-13 main types of copper ore processes
Ore type | Main useful mineral | processability | Genetic type of ore
oxidized ore |
Malachite copper ore | mainly Malamite , followed by the blue copper , the hematite and the black copper mine . | Easy to process |
Oxidized copper ore |
Silicon malachite copper ore | Mainly siliceous malachite, followed by blue copper, malachite | Difficult to process
Hematite type copper ore | mainly Hematite , Malacite , Pyritum , and minor secondary copper sulfide minerals . | Harder to process
Copper type copper ore | Mainly natural copper, followed by chalcopyrite, malachite | Easy to process
Bound copper mineral | Mainly bound copper or copper-containing water-rich kaolin, followed by chalcopyrite and copper sulfate minerals. | Difficult to process
Secondary enriched ore |
Copper blue pyrite ore | Copper blue accounts for more than 80% of all copper deposits | Easy to process |
Secondary enriched copper ore |
Lead-bearing vanadium copper-blue pyrite | Lead and vanadium 70.4%, copper blue 80% of all copper minerals | Flotation foam viscosity
Copper blue chalcopyrite pyrite | Copper blue is the main secondary sulfide copper ore > 50%. The primary copper deposit is chalcopyrite. | Easy to process
Chalcopyrite pyrite ore | Chalcopyrite accounts for more than 75% of all copper deposits. | Difficult to process
Primary ore (sulfide ore) |
Fine copper pyrite ore | Chalcopyrite is the main copper, and the content of grain size + 200 mesh is less than 40%. |
Easy to process |
Hydrothermal copper ore |
Medium copper pyrite ore | Chalcopyrite is the main copper deposit, and the grain size + 200 mesh content is 40% to 80%.
Coarse copper pyrite ore | Chalcopyrite is the main copper deposit, and the grain size + 200 mesh content is more than 80 %
Vein-disseminated copper ore (porphyry copper-molybdenum ore) | Copper ore is mainly chalcopyrite, molybdenum, etc.
Copper zinc pyrite ore | Zinc content is greater than 0.7%, chalcopyrite is dominant, and metasomatic dissolution structure is dominant among minerals. | Copper and zinc are not easily separated |
